FAT not PHAT

i have to say i HATE the word
FAT! i think it is a horrible
word and not because i am
overweight and have been called it
many, many, many times. but due to the
fact that it doesn't just hurt someone
it affects them by only 3 letters.
this weekend my nephew said "wow your
FAT"
after saying I LOVE YOU.
he is 4 and really
didn't mean any malicious or
being mean about it at all.
i mean how do you react to that
i did what i thought was correct
and really didn't react
and let my brother and his
wife handle it.
he of course apologize and
we all forgot about it
but honestly i don't know
why when a 4 year old
tells me i am fat. some
reason that struck me more
than when i am told by adults.
i know it is not a teaching of
my brother or his wife. he is
a child and children are the most
honest at telling you things of that
nature.

that got me thinking about other
things involving those who are overweight
or obese. such as
airplanes,
amusement parks,
clothing stores,
walking the beach,
swimming,
sitting around at a restaurant,
there are so many others. i understand
that obesity is a problem in America
and yes it should be helped however
who wants to go to the gym and
be laughed at or mocked,
it is an unjust world we live in
and people who are FAT are
discriminated against and nothing is
done about it.
it upsets me more than anything
the name calling, the remarks, snorts,
etc. no matter how thin i have been
i have always gotten the looks, snorts, and
name calling. it has made me stronger
but deep down i still want to hide.
