Forever a NEWBY

Do you ever have the feeling that you are behind the times. I mean BEHIND. There is all these new sites for weightloss, groups for motivation and whatever else you may need at the time. That's the problem I am behind in all aspects of the word. I thought I was one of those who was hip (ok so not so much) but anyway to the new computer tech and such but good gosh I am so small that I couldn't even image all the things out there. Maybe thats the problem I can't image them therefore wouldn't even think to use them or even need them. However, a cousin of mine pointed me towards a webite geared for people who either want to shed the pounds or find others who have the same interests and No its not a dating site either. Try it.... would yah. its called sparkpeople.com btw if you have heard of it add me and no making fun of the person who needs to upgrade to a faster chip.

Toodles.

Weekend Round Up and Some self loathing

Good Monday all..... And for my next trick I will be frustrated and anger. I must say this and then move on.... I hate how "Bush" put our economy in the toilet and the "terminator". There is absolutely nothing I can do and I feel stuck. Basically, I am having the birthday blues, in about a month I will turn another year older and have nothing to show for my life. No house, car that works, job that pays or child and no husband. I feel like I am trying to live in my 20's um hello self your not 20 your in your mid-thirties. That bothers me the most mid-thirties. I don't regret any decisions because you can't live on regrets but there are things I want to do differently.

So far this is what I have figured out what to do...

1. buy a car before April 1st-I am seriously scared but I have to
2. putting out resumes everywhere including out of state
3. pay off bills that are hoovering over me since college
4. get a second job if #2 doesn't happen anytime soon
5. try and just be happy it could be worse

So, if any of you have any suggestions, contacts anything let me know.

Ok, weekend round up. Friday was alright just stayed home and finished off my week list.
Saturday went shopping for a car (found one but they wouldn't give me what I wanted so I walked off) however, the weather has changed so my ankles turned into cankles (size of cantelopes) hurting more than normal so I had to go home and put them up. After taking a nap woke up with a migraine that lasted the remaining of the weekend. Sunday, I finished season 2 of Veronica Mars.

How was yours???

Its Friday tell me what I win

Well for starters self you win two free days of doing exactly what your list says, the one that you have been writing all week. Then you get to "hang" out with your peeps Saturday night doing some gig or hoe down and paint the night blue, red is so blah. On Sunday you get to go through your mail you have left piling up in your organizer and clean clean clean. However your in between time may be spent reading a certain book that a certain friend did for you. And to top it all off start publishing your book for mothers day and father's day. Shh that ones a secret!!!

On a good note my Sunday will be retired soon. I have found some possible replacements. However, btw Sunday is my car...alrighty then back to it.... I am having reservations because my car and I have been through and gotten out of some pretty harry jams. Sunday has been in 2 accidents one by a ugh kid barely out puberty the second a "man" I use that term loosely who spoke no English and drove a 16 wheeler. But she has avoided many many accidents oppsies and well that's gonna leave a mark. So I ask you how do I move on from my comfortable zone....... By getting a shiny NEW car and taking off my left arm, giving up my right would just be silly.

A yogurt vice

I have to thank Mercedes for this one, I am completely hooked on Yogurt land. It is so much better than golden spoon and cheaper.

NO MORE and a Tangent or two

No more caffeine. I have given it up completely. Except chocolate, really..really you thought I would give up my indulgence of creamy milk chocolate. Silly peeps this is Gina not some random crazy person. Since giving up the "caffeine" I have noticed many things. How much I miss Mountain Dew and what it did for my drowsiness, taste (duh), bubbles. I am one of those people who craves bubbles and soon that is my next endeavor. Once I have fully recovered from giving up the "caffeine" I am going to kick bubbles altogether. Why you ask? Well I need to get used to no bubbles and if get rid of the craving then later in life I will be fine about it.

In a previous blog I had mentioned changes are coming. Boy changes are a comin for sure. So this is the first of many..

On a weirder note last night I had a dream about the house I grew up in. I loved everything about that house. I could walk around that house and not run into anything, I new the creeks, sounds, animals, everything about this house. I miss that house. It was the only time I felt at home. Even today I live somewhere but its not home. My memories are in my Lakewood home.

First boyfriend, kiss, all my friends (who no longer live around there), school memories, the crazy pictures of boys on the walls. It encompassed home to me. It's what I want for my children a sense of home. That feeling you get when you are going home to comfort, a shielding mechanism from life. I dreamt of that last night. How I needed that mechanism during my dream, I felt as if my world was crumbling and didn't know what to do so I automatically think of home and that's where I go. Not necessarily with "both" parents there because that's never going to happen just home "MY" home.

A safe "HAVEN" if you will that will always be there just not for me any longer because some other family or person has the opportunity to make memories in my childhood home. That's exactly what that is my "childhood" home and at times I think it would be easier if I were a child. But most children wish they were older...I am not talking about revert back to childhood just it was easier. Mainly at times I am just tired of fighting and not getting any results. Like I want someone on my side to help with the fight. UGH irony how I hate you....

It smells like ffridge or wet cat

So another thing that I failed to mention that happened on Friday was the hilarious antics of my co-workers. Below are some quotes that if you were there would be rolling on the floor as we were...Well if it wasn't dirty and uncomfortable...

1. See title-That was courtesy of Jeannette who was talking about her Baclava.. Truthfully it looked more like banana covered in Frosted Flakes.
2. Should have gone to Denny's-This was said by me because we were somewhere in San Diego and the "Cafe" had bubble gum ice cream. This is not the 80's I realize somethings are coming back but really leave that one alone.
3. I asked if that was a Mexican Churro-This was courtesy of Jorge..Talking about the Baclava.
4. Smells Like wet Cat...This was courtesy from Jeannette talking about her new Balcava after Cindy had exchanged. So it not only tasted like fridge but smelled like wet cat.
5. F*$( I don't cuss)-That was E ahh E you would put a sailor to shame.
6. Smells like lard-Yet another one from Jeannette about the Mexican Churro.
7. I didn't have enough time in the incubator-Ejiro said this lil diddy and no Sean was no where around.

Oh the fun. The quotes just kept coming. However, these are the only ones I wrote down because well I could see at the time.

Memories

I thought I would share a few memories of when the my brothers were younger and still hung on every word that I said.

Nick at his finest.

Weekend Roundup

I would like to start by saying Thank you for those who came with me to my cousin's opening in San Diego. And for those who were unable to make it no worries plan on going there for some good ol BBQ cookin.

So let's start the weekend roundup-Friday went to San Diejo with a few people from work to visit Frankie's "Frankie the Bull's BBQ restaurant. Very good. 3.5 thumbs.

Sunday well nothing until 7ish went over to Kari and E's. we were to visit with Jenny however wedding events didn't allow for time so we went to El Torito instead. FYI just because you nod in agreement with yourself doesn't mean you must take that one last bit... FOOD poisioning hte next day what FUN

I gonna wash that gray right out of my hair-oops

Boo yesterday I colored my hair and I thought I purchased the correct box (ok before you go and judge I used to go all the time to a hairstylist before she decided to charge me to get my hair colored, plus my hair needs coloring more often "STUPID GRAY" so I change my boxes a bit) however, my hair is the same color it was when I was a tween -the gray. So I have this "dark ash brown" whatever its black thing that is supposed to be my hair and I hate it.

To top it off I got the coloring everywhere so I must find something to get that crap off. So any ideas would be fabulous.

On a sadder note I know people are reading me and why not follow so that you can catch my every word you know its that important. Also, don't forget to comment on my blog let me know your thoughts, feelings or say hi. Its all good.

CAUTION-WARNING this blog contains Whinning and venting

First of all the morning came a little bit earlier than I liked.

1. Feet are swollen to the size on cantelopes. Why you ask? Well the frickin weather change.
2. Its difficult to get a goods night sleep when others decide to have the TV loud enough for the neighbors down the street to hear.
3. Phone likes to turn off at random times so I am lucky if I get my alarm to work considering I use my cell phone. Its easy and convenient when it works.
4. This morning my window on my drivers side decided it didn't want to raise after I lowered to get the morning dew removed. Did I mention it was cold this morning I left my house prior to the sun waking up the roosters.
5. Must get an MRI
6. After I work at my first 8 hour job, I am going to a second for who knows how long.

I realize that you do not want to read about BAD things or Whining. But here's the thing its my blog and I will do what I want with it. But I do hope you follow and keep reading; its bound to pick up soon.

P.S Thank you to Bianca for putting together a mini St. Paddy's Day shindig.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Courtesy of Wikepedia

Saint Patrick's Day
(Irish: Lá ’le Pádraig or Lá Fhéile Pádraig), colloquially St. Paddy's Day or simply Paddy's Day, is an annual feast day which celebrates Saint Patrick (circa AD 385–461), one of the patron saints of Ireland, and is generally celebrated on March 17.

The day is the national holiday of Ireland. It is a bank holiday in Northern Ireland and a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland and Montserrat. In Canada, Great Britain, Australia, the United States, and New Zealand, it is widely celebrated but is not an official holiday.[1]

St. Patrick's feast day was placed on the universal liturgical calendar in the Catholic Church due to the influence of the Waterford-born Franciscan scholar Luke Wadding[2] in the early part of the 17th century, although the feast day was celebrated in the local Irish church from a much earlier date. St. Patrick's Day is a holy day of obligation for Roman Catholics in Ireland. The feast day usually falls during Lent; if it falls on a Friday of Lent (unless it is Good Friday), the obligation to abstain from eating meat can be lifted by the local bishop. The church calendar avoids the observance of saints' feasts during certain solemnities, moving the saint's day to a time outside those periods. St. Patricks Day is very occasionally affected by this requirement. Thus when March 17 falls during Holy Week, as in 1940 when St. Patrick's Day was observed on April 3 in order to avoid it coinciding with Palm Sunday, and again in 2008, having been observed on 15 March.

So enjoy your corn beef and cabbage drink green beer and thank you local leprechaun.

Weekend Recap-Lost in the OC I think

Let me start this by saying getting lost for 4 hours sucks. Yes, 4 hours and that is with a gps.

Friday after working I went to Ross determined to get a purse. I found 2 but decided that after I put myself on a budget that I would only get the one and buy much needed flip flops. I went home and watched Hancock. Let me say with a mini review-Stupid-Stupid movie.

Saturday I had to work so after waking up late I finally got to work to be scared by someone who supposedly comes every Saturday. At 9am I left for my Resource Fair at which the GPS and kind person who gave me directions prior to was a pile of wood. Yes I said that right Wood. So, doing what a normal person would do or female for that matter I asked everyone I could for directions. I called everyone I could Ejiro, Donna even the place where I supposed to go. Finally after a few hours and wasted gas I asked the person whose address the gps sent me to and she gave me hazy directions. I finally arrived there after 4 hours and really it was cold, outside, and not a great day for me. Sunday, was pretty much boring.

PhotoFriday-Bear Valley

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

Snow...yep Snow. Cold, wet, beautiful snow. When I worked at a Law Firm I would travel with my boss to their cabin in Bear Valley. It was over 6000 feet up on a mountain that over looked a great valley. When I was there I heard a huge scream "GINA" and then I walked outside barefoot with no sweater to this. First reaction cold cold cold. Wow how cool. So after putting on my ugly shoes and jacket went outside and took many photos. I love taking landscape photos they might not mean a lot to those viewing them because they are not of people or fun times. But when you take landscape photos they say so much more than remembering the times that were had but more the revelation that it is okay at times to stop and look. It was so much fun it reminded me of the first time I went to Big Bear with the family and got into fights with snow balls and my brothers faces when they were covered in white cold wet ice. Good times how I miss them.

Music Review-Kelly Clarkson

So its that time again for new music review. This time Kelly Clarkson has put out a decent album (cd) that has everything you would want on a cd. Rock, mellow, disco, electric and vocal. I would give it a 3 out of 4 digs. She really has chops and the songs are well written, she even wrote a few. However, some of them contradict each other first is about I can't live without you, others are about I can't live with you and others are all I want is you. So, if she was in a relationship I don't think it was a mutual breakup. But good job, she is defiently back and ladies and gentlemen although I am a fan I will not be going to her concert. I know she can sing live so really I would just like to avoid the crowds and enjoy singing to it in my car as loud as you could image.

New Life Project

Yesterday I decided to make a few changes in my life. Starting with me. I found that I must be selfish in order to get where I need to be. So the following is a list that I have made to start the process.

1. Crawl out of the rut I am currently in
2. Make an effort
3. Start looking for new prospects
4. Join Gym
5. Purge and merge items. If I haven't seen or used it in a year. BYE BYE BYE
6. Donate time to organizations
7. Start taking pictures again for FUN
8. Visit with Friends
9. BUY A NEW CAR
10. Enjoy, enjoy, Enjoy
11. See friends more often
12. Forgive others

Generosity

I am once again fascinated by how people would give the shirt off their backs in order to give a gift to a child. My job deals with finding things for children and their families so I decided to get the communities involved meaning make them an active participant in the re-introduction. The cities have money and time well at least they could if they learned to manage better. I have contacted 10 Cities and have gotten scholarships from instructors for children to attend. It is amazing how generous people can do when you tell the "TRUTH" yes I tell them the truth in regards to the children they will be helping.

On a sadder note it chaps my hid when I am treated as a child when "um hellllooo" have been an adult for quit some time. I realize that I like to enjoy what I am doing but really....

I earned the right to vent....if you want to sue please contact 555-(*&^, his name is Cliff.LOL

Weekend Recap-Un socialable

It's that time again and while I do feel a bit like I was racked over coals I still feel anti-social. So to start this is my weekend in a egg shell because I am semi-allergic to peanuts. Friday after work went with Ejiro over to celebrate Oscar's birthday. We played scrabble and to say that I was bad would be a kindness to....ME. So, I was horrible, just keepin it real. Plus came up with some very interesting new additions to the Webster dictionary. For example, Dasked.. "I dasked you a question.". Yes that is one that I came up with in order to get rid of some very uninteresting letters. Good Times....

Saturday, much of nothing except I worked for a few hours and then do the usual Saturday activities. Cat litter=nasty and not such great times. However, both my brothers were visiting my dad and that made for a more enjoyable time. I was to go out later that night with friends however the anti-sociable bug was still lingering and well decided after I had showered, dressed and had keys in hand not to go.

Sunday, woke up with a migraine and stayed in bed watching tv (catching up on all those reality tv stars that I have missed or missed mocking). Took some pictures of my dad and brothers so cute please see below.
The bond of man

This is them being nice.

Shortness of this

I just got the the most unexpected email today regarding my job. I thought kindness was dead when it came to recognizing what someone does or puts forth when they work. It is amazing at how my rose colored glasses have been cracked over the years. However, this one individual made them heal in a place. At my job I help find things for those who are in dyer need or activities to keep kids out of trouble. I started a scholarship program that if you added up all the totals that the instructors have donated is in the thousands. Plus, I just got the some of Orange County Cities involved to help the kids in the community. So, when someone says that they appreciate you it made me smile and I thought I would share some of the kindness that was bestowed upon me to everyone else.

"Hey Gina I want to thank you for all the help you give us..your such a hard worker and I want to thank you for all you do. It is greatly appreciated!!", I am not going to give her name but THANK YOU

So for those who feels that they are not appreciated or put in a place that is stressful. Just remember that I appreciate what you do because in some way what we all do for a living affects us all in some way.

Photo Friday-Monterrey Aquarium

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

The picture above was taken with my old cannon. Oh how I miss that camera. However, from the previous post you can see I have upgraded to a fantastic new cannon. Oh she is lovely. But that's not my story. It starts with my dad calling me in the middle of the night by saying "the boys and I are taking you somewhere, so make sure you pack your camera". So the next day at 6am we pile in my dad's truck and take a long drive to MONTERREY. At the time I worked for AOP and called the Monterrey Aquarium to see if we could get in, well we did and the only reason my dad was taking me was to see the craziest looking fish, The Mola Mola or Sunfish. However, that day he was out sun bathing and was not in his tank. The picture above it the view from the deck that overlooks the swim tank for people to be with different animals.

This was the coolest thing ever. The Elephant Seals were only a few feet away and the bull wouldn't let others near but because I was excited I pressed my luck to see how far I could just sit next to them. I got pretty close and saw the males fight for the females. Coolest day trip ever.....

Manic Monday-Review

I must thank my cousin SAUNDRA for getting me so interested in the bachelor soap opera. Instead of doing something productive last night I watched what could only be called Disaster TV. I am a reality junkie, love watching drama on tv than living it. The fake reality of finding love on tv is once in a lifetime and strikes like lightning.

I watched the Bachelor for the first time this season last night and doh. I had a favorite instantly and her personality was awesome and so sincere. So why did he turn around and pick "Mall e" the lets see how much caked on, hairspray, and rat nest pony. She had no facial expression it was like listening and watching the guy who says "Buellar... Buellar...Buellar...anyone anyone....". Really, are you that desperate and so emotional that you new at that moment you should have stopped the car and said I made a mistake wait here. Instead you put on a fasad go about one could only assume to be dating two women again. Really you put a very nice person through an ordeal on nation televion and profess your love to another when FYI you said "sorry I have fallen in love with someone else" 6 weeks prior.

UGH, another reason I only watch the last epiodes. I hope Melissa (my favorite after only a few minutes) really puts it to him. Jerk

Broken Sunday

Sunday is my car. I currently own a escort for the last 9 years and she is on her last leg. Friday I was stranded at Kmart. My car wouldn't start. Well AAA came (cute boy) and he jumped it, then as I was driving home and it completly died. AAA was called again and after 1 hour finally got it home and it turned out that I needed a new battery. However, I have decided that in the next few months I am going to get a new car. All in all not a good weekend.

A few things that mean home and happiness to me....
